Literacy and Numeracy
- National Reporting System (NRS) - Provides industry, trainers and assessors with a common reference point for describing language, literacy and numeracy within competency standards.
Training
- Training.com.au - provides a single point of access to the vast range of vocational education and training information, products and services in Australia. The portal was developed in conjunction with state and territory training authorities and the Australian National Training Authority (ANTA). It is a gateway to many different websites and services.
- Communitybuilders.nsw.gov.au - an interactive electronic clearing house for everyone involved in community level social, economic and environmental renewal, including community leaders, community and government workers, volunteers, program managers, academics, policy makers, youth and seniors.
- Resource Generator - A web based library of training resources that can be downloaded free. Also enables adaption of existing materials and creation of new resources from templates provided. Enables development of training plans. Offers a broad range of materials in a small number of industries, but otherwise limited by range of materials available.
- Education Network Australia (EdNA) - Extensive database of materials and valuable links to other sites. A very good source of materials that complement and supplement national materials. Calls itself one of the largest educational websites in the world.
- Flexible Learning Products and Services - This site has been developed specifically for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to discover the many products and services available to assist RTOs in the implementation of flexible learning. These products and services have been developed as a direct result of the Australian Flexible Learning (AFL) Framework.
- Australian Training Products www.atpl.net.au is the national not for profit publisher and distributor of endorsed Training Packages and Vocational Education and Training (VET) support materials.
- Training Packages @ Work www.tpatwork.com - A national newsletter that provides information on the implementation of training packages.
- AEShareNet - The site for obtaining a copyright licence. Also contains a substantial list of training materials on a database according to their copyright licence classification. Possible to locate suitable materials from the site and information about them, but not to access the materials themselves. In the near future, many items will be linked to a point of sale.
- Curriculum Corporation - Website holds full text of the nation's VET in schools products available and downloadable free. Links to OZJAC, Le@rning Federation and TAFE sites.
- Reframing the Future - Professional development projects that support the National Training Framework. Site also lists publications available on approaches to learning.
- Toolbox Information - Multimedia flexible learning resources. Information about them, samplers and how to use.
- TVET Australia - This website connects clients with thousands of training products on one site. Over 22,000 teaching and learning resources are available, bringing together the products of Australian Training Products (ATPL) and AEShareNet in one place. It includes a news and events page, a search feature as well as comprehensive links to other VET and industry sites. Visitors can also subscribe to the TVET, National Quality Council (NQC) and National Industry Skills Committee (NISC) newsletters.
Assessment
- Vocational Education and Training Assessment Services (VETASSESS) Provides assessment related services to Australia's vocational education and training sector. VETASSESS has the experience and expertise to assist enterprises, industry organisations, Registered Training Organisations and government agencies achieve their assessment objectives.
- Learning and Assessment Strategies Kit - A new free PDF resource available to help Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) with learning and assessment strategies. The kit is designed to help RTOs meet standard 9 of the AQTF Standards for RTOs.
- Assessment tool for incorporating language, literacy and numeracy skills into training packages - A professional development kit for trainers and assessors to assist them in understanding the importance of communication in training packages. This is a large PDF file that may take time to download.
Careers
- My Future (careers information service) - One stop shop career information service. Aimed at individuals wanting to plan their careers, but also useful for careers advisors.
- OZJAC (the Australian courses and careers database) - Connects courses to jobs. Links to TAFE websites.
Research
- National Centre for Vocational Education Research - Publishes research papers with search facility and available in PDF online; also has developed a site that can show whether the requirements of a national qualification have been met.
