If not, please click here to cancel. 2009 NT Training Awards Nominations close 29 May The NT Department of Education and Training will hold its annual premier gala event to recognise and applaud excellence in training and achievement in the VET sector on 12 September, and nominations will close at 2pm on Friday, 29 May. Businesses, Training Organisations, Trainers, Apprentices, Trainees and Students can all enter the awards. In all, there are 12 awards divided into 2 categories: students and organisations. Award winners will represent the Territory at the national Australian Training Awards in November. Accolades for Excellence in the Health and Community Services sectors Applications are open The Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council is calling for applications for its inaugural National Accolades for Excellence. Applications opened on 1 May and will remain open until Friday 31 July, with presentations to take place in October. Outstanding achievements showcasing best practice in the Community Services and Health industries will be awarded in 4 categories:
For further information about the Accolades, please click on the following link: Read More>> Indigenous Economic Development Forum Developing Our Future Together The 4th Indigenous Economic Development (IED) Forum is happening on the 6th and 7th of October at the Alice Springs Convention Centre. Don't miss out on this oppurtunity to share knowledge and experiences! The forum will focus on building partnerships and developing stakeholder's capacity for sustainable economic activity. The Northern Territory Government will host the forum through the Department of Regional Development, Primary Industry, Fisheries and Resources, who will be guided by a specially formed Reference Group.

Australian Core Skills Framework Workshops Have you booked in for the FREE ACSF workshops? Make sure you don't miss out!! The Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) describes levels of performance in the 5 core skills of Learning, Reading, Writing, Oral Communication and Numeracy, and provides a consistent national approach to the identification of the core skills requirements in diverse personal, community, work and training contexts as well as a common reference point for describing and discussing performance in the 5 core skill areas. The ACSF is based on the National Reporting System (NRS), a mechanism for reporting outcomes of adult English language, literacy and numeracy provision. The NRS has been used by Australian language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) specialists since 1995. Melodie Murphy - Operations Manager - HSTAC . New Employment Data Report for NT HSTAC has just finished compiling a comparison report from its employment vacancy database. The report compares data from job advertisements in the NT News from the first quarter of last year (January - March 2008) with data from the first quarter of this year (January - March 2009).
