VALIDATION WORKSHOPS
AHW validation workshops have been held in Darwin, Alice Springs and Katherine. If you would like to get involved in the validation, or for more information please contact Barbara Pitman on (08) 8981 2550 or b.pitman@hstac.com.au b.pitman@hstac.com.au DISABILITY CO-ORDINATOR PROJECTPeter Laming has recently attended an annual workshop organised by the Department of Education Science and Training (Canberra), for all of the Disability Co-ordinators and Regional Disability Liaison Officers across Australia. He also attended and contributed to the Pathways 7 conference which was held in Alice Springs in November 2004. The theme of the conference was to "inspire, include and increase." Options and strategies for promoting access to post secondary education for people who have a disability were explored during both conferences. For more information please contact Peter Laming on (08) 8981 2550 or email projects@hstac.com.au WORKPLACE ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERACY KIT FOR IEHWsThis user friendly kit is being developed to assist with the training of Indigenous Environmental Health Workers (IEHWs). It is designed to sit in the workplace and be used as needed. The kit is due for release in June 2005. NEW CHC02 COMMUNITY SERVICES (GRANGE CARE SERVICES) TOOLBOXThis flexible learning resource (CD) assists trainers delivering the Certificate III in Aged Care Work and Certificate III in Home and Community Care. Designed to mirror residential and home and community care environments, the learner is presented with a range of tasks that a carer would be expected to perform in the industry.
