AHW VALIDATION WORKSHOPS

DISABILITY CO-ORDINATOR PROJECT

Peter Laming has recently attended an annual workshop organised by the Department of Education Science and Training (Canberra), for all of the Disability Co-ordinators and Regional Disability Liaison Officers across Australia. He also attended and contributed to the Pathways 7 conference which was held in Alice Springs in November 2004. The theme of the conference was to "inspire, include and increase." Options and strategies for promoting access to post secondary education for people who have a disability were explored during both conferences. WORKPLACE ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERACY KIT FOR IEHWs

This user friendly kit is being developed to assist with the training of Indigenous Environmental Health Workers (IEHWs). It is designed to sit in the workplace and be used as needed. NEW CHC02 COMMUNITY SERVICES (GRANGE CARE SERVICES) TOOLBOX

This flexible learning resource (CD) assists trainers delivering the Certificate III in Aged Care Work and Certificate III in Home and Community Care. Designed to mirror residential and home and community care environments, the learner is presented with a range of tasks that a carer would be expected to perform in the industry. Human Services Training Advisory Council welcomes three new part time staff members to the organisation. Michele Hughes (Finance Officer), Miles Lion, (Administration Officer) and Elisabeth Abbott (Projects Assistant).

HEALTH TRAINING PACKAGE HLTO2 REVIEW

The review is progressing well and the CS&H Industry Skills Council appreciates the ongoing input from stakeholders.
