CAREERS EXPO 2007

It's nearly that time of the year again! Careers Expos will be held in August at various locations around the Territory. This year HSTAC will be represented at Tennant Creek (14 August), Alice Springs (16 August), Nhulunbuy (22 August) and Katherine (24 August). They will be great fun, as usual, and an excellent opportunity for all students to get involved.

Our theme for this year will be around careers that support people with a disability.

In order to help us get the message across to students who may be contemplating employment in the disability field, we would love to hear from you, or any of your colleagues, who have a good story about working in the disability area, or any advice or information you would like to share with the students. Please email admin@hstac.com.au or post to HSTAC, GPO Box 1557, Darwin, NT, 0801 to reach us by 1 August for possible inclusion in our displays. We look forward to hearing from you.

A new innovation this year will be a Recruitment Drive encouraging student visitors and members of the wider community to visit the Expo in their region specifically to submit their resumes to those employers with whom they are interested in seeking future employment. So if you are planning to employ staff or recruit in the near future, this is a great opportunity to highlight careers in your organisation or sector. The Recruitment Drive has been timed for the last two hours of the Expos in the Top End, as follows:

  • Tennant Creek (14 August) 5.00-7.00pm
  • Darwin (20 August) 5.00-7.00pm
  • Nhulunbuy (22 August) 4.00-6.00pm
  • Katherine (24 August) 4.30-6.30pm

Register now to exhibit at the expos until Friday 20 July 2007, or contact Debra Bennett on (08) 8941 1956.
