Judith Mckay - Executive Officer

Following several years living and working in the small prawn fishing town of Karumba in the Gulf of Carpentaria QLD, Judith’s family moved to Darwin in 1995 to seek high school education for her two sons.

As an Enrolled Nurse working for several years at Juninga Aged Care Centre, Coconut Grove, Judith had the opportunity to develop strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from across the NT. This led to acquiring firsthand knowledge and experience of the practice of supported care in the cultural setting and the opportunity to be accepted into Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.

This employment opportunity provided a solid set of skills and a desire to seek out further education through Charles Darwin University's Faculty of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies. Completion of a Diploma in Community Service and employment with Council for Aboriginal Alcohol Programs followed. This employment fuelled a growing enthusiasm for furthering opportunities through the VET Sector and the undertaking of further study in a Batchelor of Teaching and Learning (Preserve) through Charles Darwin University.

With her appointment in May 2011 to the position of Executive Officer with HSTAC, Judith looks forward to furthering the valuable work of HSTAC in supporting human services across the Northern Territory.

Jodie Connell - Finance Officer (Part Time)

Jodie is originally from Victoria, and after living there for 26 years she decided to travel with her partner around Australia. They travelled directly to Kununurra (the 'last frontier'), started work the next day and stayed for 12 years. Jodie worked in the travel industry, and then as a bookkeeper.

Three children later (one girl and twin boys), the family decided to move to Darwin for Jodie’s partner’s career (and the shops!). Today Jodie works part time as the Finance Officer and is currently studying for the Diploma of Accounting.
